The reset pushed through, but now my desktop says it has Windows 8. WIM file that I read about, copied it to a local folder and set it up through the command prompt.
#WINDOWS 8 TO WINDOWS 8.1 MEDIA CREATION TOOL ISO#
I was unable to download the ISO of the Single Language edition here at the office due to some proxy issue with our network using the media creation tool from microsoft. WIM file from the installation media into a local folder inside the main drive and use the command prompt to point my system to that installation file. I read that if I had the ISO, all I need was to copy the INSTALL. When I start with the reset process, I am prompted that some files are missing and that I need an installation disk. I tried to use the reset feature of Windows 8.

Official Tool to Download Windows 8.1 Setup ISO and Create Installation Media - You will find a link on the page listed below that says,, click it and it will download and run the program. This operating-system comes packed with a lot of features and tools as in comparison to earlier version. No other uSB creator program says that about this same USB drive.įor some reason, those links will only be valid for 24 hours. I also noticed that when it asks you to browse to a folder to save the ISO to that folder of your choice, there is no ISO ever created there, at least when I checked, there was nothing.
